A Bit About Me
My name is Elizabeth Kidney and I am a graduate student at the University of Central Florida studying Rhetoric and Composition. The website is part of my Master's non-thesis project. I decided on a non-thesis project as I felt that research and ethnographic work best worked with the subject matter that I have been interested in pursuing. I wanted to take a different approach to studying and displaying rhetoric and composition and was inspired to attack this project through a multimodal approach that would make the world of Irish cultural rhetorics more accessible to the public. My personal interests revolve around History, the arts, mythology, and folklore.
Educational Experience
University of Central Florida, M.A.
2023 - 2024
University of South Florida, B.A.
2020 - 2022
St. Petersburg College, A.A.
2018 - 2020
At present, I am a graduate student at UCF in my final semester conducting thesis hours. Over the course of my time at UCF my scholarly interests have primarily revolved around cultural rhetorics, which I was first introduced to in Dr. Milu's class. Since the spring of '23 my research in my courses has steadily drifted towards exploring Irish rhetoric, folklore, and storytelling.
I received my B.A. from USF in History and Political Science in 2022. My research interests during my B.A. primarily focused on classics and studying history and historiography which is largely intertwined with rhetoric and political science.
Before attending USF, and right after I graduated from high school, I received my A.A. as an SPC Titan and then attended USF as a transfer student.
